In order to wipe out ignorance and inferiority complex from the minds of rural women, especially the dalit women and the tribal women, series of Awareness meetings, campaigns were conducted in the following subjects; girl children's education, child labour , problems of unclean drinking water and the water quality testings, legal and political rights, the self –employment schemes, the different welfare programmes available with state and central Governments, personal cleanliness and environmental awareness. Functional literacy was also taught to the women. The result of this capacity building programmes have been so effective that 14 village presidents 21 ward members and 15 union councilors have been the bye-products of our training programmes. More over, the dalit and other women have unequivocally ascertained their equal rights and they no longer consider themselves as inferior citizens. The physical harassment from the husbands has been considerably reduced as women sanghas have been formed in most of the villages. In all, the women have been trained to take care of themselves against the abuse and exploitation within their family and outside their family.

About 4000 women have started self employment activities with loan assistance from the various Government Departments and the Nationalised Banks and Co – operative Banks. 20 Silk Weaving family units have been commenced in Ammachatram village and it gives employment opportunities to 20 more women of the village in addition to the unit holders. 3000 women are involved in Dairy business and 4 milk co-operative societies have been established and are successfully managed with an annual turn over of Rs.2 lakhs each.
